HAWAIIAN HEALTH OHANA is a coalition of two long-time Noni endeavors from Kauai.
Scott 'SH' Jarvis originated Noni Fruit Leather in 1994 in reaction to the need to send out Noni to friends around the world. Discovering that low-temperature dehydration created a form that required no refrigeration and can be mailed effortlessly and inexpensively, yet still retain the healing characteristics of the fresh fruit, he started a mission to build the better dryer that would allow the extremely efficient processing required to keep temperatures down.
He lives a coconut's throw from the beach on the North Shore of Kauai, where he's been for most of the last 20 years.
Steve Frailey began organically farming Noni fruit in 1981, when he and his wife started the family farm at their idyllic location on the island of Kauai. He has been a pioneer in organic cultivation. Their family farm is a self-sustainable operation with its own wells, solar-voltaic systems and windmills. They practice no-till method of farming and incorporate vermiculture and lots of mulch. Sunrise Organic Farm is a major supplier of the finest quality certified organic noni fruit.
He and his family and the Noni trees all reside on a bluff overlooking turtles, whales and dolphins on the northermost point of the Hawaiian Islands.
